Christmas Enjoyment!

These are some of the best movies all for getting you into the Christmas spirit! I have a checklist of movies to watch every year before Christmas! I cannot wait to go home and watch "A White Christmas" with my papa! It is by far my favorite Christmas movie. Singing, Romance, Humor, and snow!

Another Christmas tradition in my family is to watch Scrooge the musical! When I was a kid, I used to be so scared and I would hate my mom for making me watch it! But it has such a good message.

Two days Mom! I'll be home in two days!

DONE WITH FINALS!

Wow I feel so good! A ten page paper and two portfolios all in three days! Is there a word coming to anyone else's mind? Like...PROCRASTINATION! haha I'm sure I'm not the only one. Now I am free to breathe deep and enjoy the Christmas season! So Merry Christmas to all you bloggers out there!

Well...the high temp yesterday was -5. I am freezing here in Sheridan! haha Sorry, Family! I have not kept you updated for a long time now! So here's what's going on in the life of Rachael...On top of being trapped in a giant freezer, it is finals week! yipee. I'll admit I am a little stressed, but I'll be ok. Church is good and I am the new gospel doctrine teacher in the branch. It keeps me busy. I am very very very excited to go home for Christmas and yes (to those of you who were in question) I have a boyfriend! His name is Ross Workman and went to Argentina on his mission. I'm sure I'll be writing much more about him ;). Isn't this sunset pretty? I took this picture about two weeks ago and I finally got around to blogging it!

One Corrupted by Facebook!

Wow it has been awhile since I have posted a blogg! After reading my cousin Taylor's blogg about the evils of facebook, I should have stayed far away-but sadly I have given into peer pressure. ha ha. The first day I was on for about 5 hours! But now I have decided to spend more time on my own blogg! And although I am not capable of writing an essay on the reasons why blogging is much more enjoyable- I will just tell you that it is!

The Joy's of being in the singles ward

Last night my branch went to a dance up in Billings. This was the turnout.

But we put on our brave faces and spent a lot of time at the food table!

Getting Smarter?

Sometimes I wonder if I am getting smarter. I have more and more to do, and get less and less sleep! In art history on Tuesday, the teacher turned off the lights to look at slides and down I went. I tried to keep my eyes open, but the combination of the dark and my teacher's soothing (monotone) voice was too much for me to handle. And last night my friend, Jaymee, was using my notes to study for our test today. My mind must wonder in that class too, because I wrote the word "unofficial," but I spelled it "unaffishial." I must be going crazy! But I made up for falling asleep on Tuesday, by waking up early, eating breakfast, and imagining what it would have been like to live in Rome! I don't know what I will do about the spelling.

Addiction

I love Easter for a whole bunch of reasons! #1 I get to go home and see my family! #2 We get to celebrate our savior's resurrection. #3 I get to decorate eggs. #4 I get to eat them as deviled eggs. #5 My fabulous mother makes jello-jiggler eggs- which I also stuff myself with. And #6 these Little beauties! I guess I really like eggs! My wonderful roommate keeps getting them from Wal-mart and I can't stop eating them!

runs in the family

Today was a wonderful day! I always love Sundays. We had Stake Conference and the whole room was filled. There were even a few in the back on the stage! This was unique to see because our branch has only 25 people who come regularly! Then we had a young adult fireside. Can you guess the topic? Marriage! Sister Beck did a great job. So later I was listening to my church music on my itunes, and the song Consider the Lillies came on. I was singing along to it and I sang, "He feeds the lambs in the sky." Ha ha ha. It reminded me of the time my awesome cousin Mike was singing in sacrament meeting and he sang those exact same words! No one noticed except me and my parents but we laughed so hard! So Mike you have left a huge impression on my mind! I love the Mike and Tami Weaver family!

What A Week

Today is Sunday and I was just thinking about what a great week it was. Monday night for Family Home Evening we had what the Branch likes to call "marshmallow wars!" We all got to make our own marshmallow guns (PVC pipes) and decorate them. Then we invaded the gym, which looked more like a battlefield! We used tables, chairs, chalkboards, and even the piano to hide behind.

Tuesday was... not the greatest, I completely failed my Art History test! I have trouble remembering names and dates. Unfortunately that's it what you have to do to pass the class. It is way interesting learning about all beautiful art work from way back when. My favorite piece so far is called "Nike of Samothrace." It is a statue honoring Nike the goddess of victory. When the Greeks first built her, she was placed overlooking the sea on the cliffs of the coastline. It is so magical the way she seems to blow in the wind. I also got an email from my aunt Pam who has just finished writing a children's book and she asked me to do the illustrations for it! I can't wait and I'm so flattered that she asked me!

All of Wednesday was spent finishing an English paper that was due, you guessed it, on Thursday! 6 pages on the Sha
kespeare play Othello! I'm ashamed to admit that I skipped my first class ever to get it done! ha ha But don't think I am a complete procrastinator! I had been thinking about it for two weeks, coming up with an outline and getting the basic things done. I just needed to add the finishing touches!

Thursday I got to sleep in! Yahoo! And after a grueling workout, (the volleyball team has started practicing again) my English teacher caught up with me and told me that I did very well on my paper! Haha- so it was worth skipping class after all.

Friday was a monumental Day because we finally took our garbage out! What a relief. It was starting to pile up. My roommate's mother also sent her some new movies! We have 38 all together!

On Saturday a few of us drove to Casper to watch the girl's and boy's basketball teams play the T-birds. We also did a little shopping! Mom you would be so proud of the awesome deals I found! After that we stopped
in a little coffee shop where one of my friends works and this saying is written up on the wall!

(Mom make sure dad sees this It made my day!) This little shop, "Java Moon," has the best toasted sandwiches I have ever had!

Hurry Spring!

Oh My Goodness- I miss the flowers so much! What's that quote that goes, "God gives us June roses so that we might have good memories in the December's of our lives." Anyway I was looking through these pictures that I took last summer and it gave me spring fever! One of my favorite things to do is take pictures of flowers. I'd like to thank my next door neighbors, who have amazing gardening skills, and didn't mind me hanging around.

Who are these Weirdos?

These are my new best friends! It's amazing to me how we connect with people anywhere we go. People who share our interests and who can appreciate our strange sense of humor. People who can just make you laugh for no reason at all. For some silly reason I thought leaving High school meant I was loosing all my friends! I believe no matter where life takes us God sends us to the people we can bless most and who in turn will help us also! Everyone I have met so far has touched my life for the better. It has made me a lot less shy, you never how you might be able to help or who might become one a life long friend!

New Life in Sheridan

It's a little hard to see but this truck says "GOT-R-DONE" on the back. Ha ha. Big trucks and cowboys are the local wildlife.

The sunsets here are beautiful. I look forward to them every night. I haven't woken up early enough to see a sun rise (College kids have really bad sleeping habits!) but I'm sure they are just as pretty.

It is so Cold Here! This was the first snowfall of the year!

Ever since graduation, Life has been moving pretty fast. Moving away from home has been one of the hardest and best experiences of my life. The term "Higher education" took on a new meaning when I realized that my mom wasn't going to be doing my laundry any more! Thanks Mom and Dad! You guys mean the world to me and I appreciate you more and more everyday.

These guys are some of the coolest people I know! We were partners in crime and had quite a bit of fun in our senior year! Me, Jenkin (My high school sweetheart), Nicole (My very best friend), and Landon (the life of any party). The two hunks in blue Headed off to BYU until their Mission calls came- Landon to Norway and Jenkin to Egland! Nicole went off to play soccer at UVSC and I bravely set off for Sheridan Wyoming to play Volleyball.

First Blog

Hey all- this is my first blog ever! I'm way excited to tell you all about what I've been up to. My second semester of school is going well. And without volleyball to worry about this semester I find I have a little extra time on my hands!

I watch this when I want to laugh
